Official: Chidera Ejuke becomes the first Super Eagles player to join Sevilla

Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke has completed a free transfer to Spanish Laliga side Sevilla, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ejuke has constantly been on the move for the past two seasons since the Russo-Ukrainian war. Two seasons ago, the Nigeria international got a loan move to Hertha Berlin.

But he did not reach his maximum potential, as he struggled to stay fit. The club was also struggling and eventually suffered relegation. Ejuke left the club at the expiration of his loan deal, but he joined Belgian side Antwerp on another loan deal at the start of last season.

Last season, the 26-year-old forward registered three goals and four assists in 21 Jupiler Pro for Antwerp, helping them to a sixth-place finish.

However, Ejuke left the club at the end of the season. Also, his contract at CSKA Moscow expired at the end of the season, making him him free agent.

Recall that on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reported that Ejuke was on the brink of joining Sevilla, subject to a medical. Well, the deal has now been sealed, as Sevilla have announced the signing of the 26-year-old winger on a three-year contract.

The transfer means that Ejuke will become the first Super Eagles player to join Sevilla. He will work under former Watford coach Quique Flores Sanchez as they look to return to their best after a 14th-place finish in Laliga last season.
