Nigeria winger Ademola Lookman has been named Atalanta’s Player of the Season for the second consecutive year, Soccernet.ng reports.
Last season, Lookman won the award after scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions during his debut Serie A campaign.
This season, he improved further, helping Atalanta qualify for the UEFA Champions League and reach the finals of both the Copa Italia and the Europa League.
Lookman scored 17 goals and made 11 key passes across all competitions, securing his place as the club’s top player.
A standout moment was his hat-trick in the Europa League final in Dublin, where Atalanta beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to win their first continental title.
Midfielders Éderson and Teun Koopmeiners finished second and third in the Player of the Season voting. Éderson played 52 matches and scored seven goals, while Koopmeiners was the team’s second-highest scorer with 15 goals and seven assists, 12 of which were scored away from home.
Following Lookman’s excellent season, reports have linked him with a move away from Italy and a return to England.
The former Everton and Crystal Palace winger is reportedly on the radar of Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, German giants Bayern Munich are also among the clubs looking to prise Lookman out of the books at Atalanta, who value him at €60 million.
