Report: Leicester City eye Nigerian descent as Kelechi Iheanacho plans exit

Kelechi Iheanacho has piqued the interest of Crystal Palace and Bournemouth who are looking to bolster their squad towards the next season…

Leicester City is reportedly joining the race to sign English-born Nigerian attacker, Elijah Adebayo, as they prepare for their return to the English Premier League, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

With Luton Town struggling to avoid relegation after their promotion about a year ago and currently sitting deep in the relegation zone with 26 points, Adebayo’s future is uncertain.

The Foxes, who will be busy in the market following their promotion to the Premier League, have reportedly identified Adebayo as a player they would like to acquire to strengthen their squad in the summer.

Earlier reports indicated that Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are also interested in securing the signature of the Super Eagles-eligible forward.

Meanwhile, according to Givemesports, new reports suggest that Kelechi Iheanacho has no plans to sign a new contract with Leicester City. Consequently, the club is exploring options for his replacement.

The Super Eagles attacker, who has struggled to secure regular starts with the club, has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace and Aston Villa as a potential free agent.

Adebayo, on the other hand, has several options if Luton decides to sell him, and he may consider joining Leicester City if their offer suits him better than others.
