Napoli sweating over Osimhen’s fitness ahead of Bologna fixture

Osimhen was taken off late in the game against Udinese, and there are fears that he may be sidelined for the next game

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is a doubt for Napoli’s Serie A game against Bologna on Saturday after he appeared to have sustained a knock in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against Udinese on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen had a good performance against the Bianconeri when Napoli visited the Bluenergy Stadium. The 25-year-old striker scored a goal and had one ruled out.

However, he was taken out of the game in the 87th minute, as he was pictured struggling on the pitch. This came 20 minutes after he had to be tended to by the medics following a bad tackle.

Following that incident, there have been doubts raised about Osimhen’s fitness for the last three games of the season. According to Fantamaster, Napoli are currently sweating over Osimhen’s fitness, and there is a good possibility that he will not feature against Bologna, who sit fourth in the Serie A.

It promises to be a tough match for the Partenopeans and they would need all their firepower for them to stand a chance. Osimhen has scored three goals in his last five games against Bologna, and he would be looking to improve on that record, in what seems to be his last season in Italy.

Nothing is confirmed yet though. Napoli may have to conduct a late fitness test on Osimhen to ascertain his readiness.
