Kelechi Iheanacho fuels transfer speculation by liking Aston Villa’s post

Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with a move away from Leicester City following the expiration of his contract at the end of the season

Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho recently liked a post by Aston Villa on X (formerly Twitter), further fueling speculation about his transfer move away from Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian attacker’s contract with the Foxes ends in June, and reports suggest that the newly promoted side is not planning to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

Top clubs, including Aston Villa, which recently secured a UEFA Champions League spot for the upcoming season, are showing strong interest in him, along with other clubs like Everton.

Iheanacho recently liked a post celebrating Ollie Watkins as Villa’s player of the season, adding to the transfer speculation.

Iheanacho Rejects New Leicester Deal

Reports indicate that Iheanacho has rejected a new contract from Leicester City, despite being offered a higher wage of £65,000 per week.

The 27-year-old Nigerian striker has had limited playing time this season under Enzo Maresca, starting only ten league matches.

Both Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are set to leave the club when their contracts expire in June 2024. Villa, looking for a backup striker for Ollie Watkins, has shown interest in Iheanacho.

Iheanacho Hints At King Power Exit

Super Eagles striker Iheanacho has hinted that Leicester City fans will miss him when he leaves in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa has shown long-term interest in Iheanacho, having attempted to sign him four years ago.

After Leicester’s final game of the season against Blackburn Rovers, Iheanacho was seen wearing a t-shirt with the inscription, “We’ve got HISTORY. When I’m gone, you gonna miss me.”
