Super Eagles forward Isaac Success has expressed his satisfaction after ending a one-year scoring drought in Udinese’s 1-1 draw against Napoli, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
Success made a significant impact after coming on for Brenner da Silva in the 53rd minute, skillfully controlling Kristensen’s delivery and converting from six yards out in added time.
This marked Success’ first Serie A goal in 379 days, in what was his 25th appearance of the season, during which he also provided one assist. His goal canceled out Osimhen’s opener in the 51st minute.
Reflecting on his journey, Success revealed that he received a lot of encouragement from his teammates during his recovery from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a couple of games last season. He expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing the unity within the team.
“After the injury Success received a lot of support from his teammates. It’s a united team. We’re like a family and I’ve always been encouraged. In just a few minutes today I was able to help and I hope to continue doing so. We all work for each other.” he said, as quoted in his club’s official page.
With Fabio Cannavaro taking over from Gabriele Cioffi just days ago, Udinese quickly secured a point against Napoli. Success praised Cannavaro’s impact, noting his clear ideas for progress despite his short tenure with the Italian side.
“His ideas are clear, even though he has only been here for a short time, he is making a significant contribution. He brings a wealth of experience and personality, quickly adapting to the team, and we are all working hard,” Success remarked.
Looking ahead, Success acknowledged the challenge of their upcoming match against Lecce but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform at their best.
“The match against Lecce, will be tough, but we will play at our best”. he concluded.
Udinese currently finds themselves in Serie A’s relegation zone and requires more points to secure their survival. Success aims to continue making a positive impact in the remaining three games for his Italian side.
