Iheanacho and Ndidi’s boss Enzo Maresca set to become Chelsea’s new manager

Enzo Maresca guided Leicester City back to the English Premier League after they were crowned EFL Championship champions

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca is set to take over as the new manager of Chelsea, having piqued the interest of Todd Boehly, Soccernet.ng reports.

Maresca, who has been instrumental in managing Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, has gained significant attention for his tactical skills.

The Italian tactician guided the Foxes back to the English Premier League just a year after their relegation to the second division following a dismal performance.

Having won the EFL Championship and stood out in the league, Maresca’s performance has attracted Chelsea’s management, who are set to agree on a contract.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian manager is set to agree on either a two-year deal with an option for a further season or a three-year deal.

The 44-year-old Maresca has reportedly nodded yes to the Blues’ project, and it is now up to the clubs to agree on compensation with the East-Midlands side.

Maresca has surpassed other notable candidates such as Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi in the race for the Chelsea job per SkySports.

Both Frank and De Zerbi had been considered strong contenders, but Maresca’s recent achievements and potential for future success have placed him ahead in the selection process.
