Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in tug-of-war for Premier League star eager to join Super Eagles

Crystal Palace is set to tap into Nigeria's pool of talent in a bid to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season

Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are locked in a battle to secure the signature of Luton Town forward Elijah Adebayo, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

The English-born player of Nigerian descent has been a standout performer in the Premier League, notching up an impressive tally of 10 goals in 25 domestic league appearances.

As Luton Town struggles to avoid relegation, sitting deep in the relegation zone with 26 points, Adebayo’s future hangs in the balance.

If the club faces relegation, his services will be in high demand in the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and Bournemouth leading the race for his signature, as reported by Givemesports.

Should Luton Town succumb to relegation, Adebayo will have a plethora of options at the end of the current season.

Clubs from the Championship, including Leicester and Ipswich, along with the play-off winners, are eyeing the talented forward.

Additionally, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are closely monitoring his situation, impressed by his performances and the likelihood of his availability.

Beyond the transfer speculation, Adebayo has expressed his desire to represent Nigeria on numerous occasions.

“I would like to play for Nigeria, It would make my mum happy, make her proud. That’s something we’ve spoken about. Playing for England? It would be a case of whichever comes first. My mum would be proud if I played for Nigeria or England, but Nigeria especially.” he said, as quoted by Times.

With his eligibility to play for the Super Eagles, he could receive a call-up for their upcoming matches against South Africa and Benin Republic in June.
