WATCH: Rasheedat Ajibade torments Real Betis defenders after winning Atletico Madrid’s POTM award

Rasheedat Ajibade delivered a woman-of-the-match performance to power Atletico Madrid Women to a crushing 5-1 win over Real Madrid Balompie, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ajibade scored one and assisted another to guide La Rojiblancas to only their 13th win in 24 Primera División Femenina games this season.

Looking for their first win in April after losing by the slimmest of margins to Athletic Club last week, Atletico Madrid started on the front foot inside the Estádio Cívitas Metropolitano.

Ajibade created the goal that broke the deadlock in the 25th minute when she crossed for Ludmila da Silva to turn home the opener for the home team.

The Super Falcons midfielder turned from provider to goalscorer seven minutes later.

Ajibade raced into the opponent’s box to meet a through pass and dribbled past her marker before curling a left-footer past the goalkeeper.

From that point on, there was no stopping Atleti as further goals from Banini, Sheila Guijarro, and Lucía Moral sandwiched Rosa Márquez’s consolation strike for Real Betis.

Ajibade’s stunning performance comes a few hours after being named Atletico Madrid’s March Player of the Month.

It is the second consecutive month that Ajibade would be named the club’s best player, as the 24-year-old also picked up the POTM award for February.

The former Avaldsnes midfielder is Atletico Madrid’s joint second-highest goalscorer with six goals. She also has five assists to record eleven goal contributions in 24 league games this term.

That tally is already better than last term’s haul of ten-goal contribution (nine goals, one assist) in 28 league matches last season.
