Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk makes big Victor Osimhen decision ahead of Kayserispor clash

Galatasaray coach Orkan Buruk will give Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen a starting shirt for their Turkish Super Lig game against Kayserispor on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Galatasaray travel to the Kadir Has Stadium on Sunday to take on Kayserispor in their Super Lig round 17 fixture.

Last time out, the Lions claimed a hard-fought 4-3 win over Trabzonspor. Nigerian striker Osimhen had to watch most of the game from the bench, as he only got 15 minutes of action.

Coach Buruk had to restrict the 25-year-old’s game time due to a slight injury. Recall that he even missed Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against Malmo in the UEFA Europa League last week.

However, Osimhen is now fully fit. And according to Superhaber, the former Lille man is expected to lead the line for Galatasaray against Kayserispor.

The reigning Turkish champions go into the game as heavy favourites, as while they sit at the top of the Super Lig, Kayserispor are 16th.

Nonetheless, Galatasaray would be wary of the threat that their opponents pose. This is as the Lions have failed to defeat Kayserispor in their last three meetings. In fact, two of the three games have ended in losses for Galatasaray.

But with Osimhen now in the team, the Lions will hope that their star man makes the difference. The Super Eagles star has been involved in at least one goal in the last three games that he started. He could just be the deciding factor for Galatasaray.
