Golden Eaglets continued their preparations for the forthcoming WAFU B U-17 tournament in Ghana with another friendly win in Abuja on Saturday evening, Soccernet.ng reports.
The record five-time FIFA U17 World Cup secured a resounding 7-0 victory over Enugu-based football academy, Udi Stars, to make it six games without defeat.
In the friendly fixture held at the FIFA Goal Project within the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the Manu Garba-tutored boys overwhelmed their opponents with a commanding 5-0 lead by halftime.
Despite Udi Stars’ resolve to stem the tide in the second period, the former world champions persisted in their offensive onslaught. They added two more goals to their tally before the referee brought proceedings to a close.
The Golden Eaglets’ impressive form extends beyond this encounter, with six friendly matches yielding five victories and two draws. Notably, they have maintained clean sheets in their last three outings, amassing a total of 15 goals.
Nigeria’s preparation, which began after coach Manu Garba returned as Golden Eaglets coach a couple of weeks ago, is geared towards the WAFU B U-17 tournament in Ghana next month.
Defending champions Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic. Meanwhile, Group A comprises the hosts, Ghana, as well as Cote D’Ivoire and Benin Republic.

Dear Coach,
I am not celebrating this at all. The quality of your opponents are unknown. The Eaglets of old were world beaters because they played quality friendly games.
Step up your preparations. Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast etc will mess you up when the stage is set.
