Dethroned Serie A kings may attempt to sign Wilfred Ndidi in the summer

The Old Lady want to some bite to their midfielder, and Ndidi is one of their options

Former Italian Serie A champions Juventus are weighing up a transfer for Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi at the end of the season,  Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi has been one of the best midfielders in the Super Eagles fold in recent years, and his ability on the pitch is undeniable.

Just three seasons ago, the Nigeria international was regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. Unfortunately, injuries have been his bane, affecting his performances on the pitch.

Nonetheless, the 27-year-old has had an impressive campaign with the Foxes, making 32 appearances across all competitions. And despite playing in the English Championship, Ndidi has some top admirers. This is coming as The AJC reports that Juventus Sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli is monitoring Ndidi’s situation at Leicester City.

The Nigeria international’s contract is set to expire at the end of the campaign, and he is yet to reach a new agreement with Leicester City. If both parties fail to agree on a new contract, Ndidi will be free to leave for free in the summer.

Currently, the only out-and-out defensive midfielder that Juventus have is Manuel Locatelli. So, if Ndidi joins the Old Lady, he would have enough opportunities to prove himself.

Juventus are desperately trying to get back to the top of Italian football after struggling in the last four seasons. After winning nine consecutive titles from 2011 to 2020, they have not won any titles since then.
