Chiamaka Nnadozie wins Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year award, makes French TOTS

Super Falcons and Paris F.C. goalkeeper, Chiamaka Cynthia Nnadozi has been voted as the best goalkeeper in the French Division 1 Feminine after a stellar season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 23-year-old won the 2023 CAF Female Goalkeeper of the Year after helping Nigeria to three clean sheets in four FIFA World Cup games and has added another collection to her laurels.

In 18 league games for Paris F.C., Nnadozie kept six clean sheets and saved two of the three penalties her team conceded, alongside saving another two in her club’s UEFA Women’s Champions League Campaign. Her shot-to-save ratio is 70.1%, the second-best in the French league.

Nnadozie has also helped her club secure a Championship play-off spot as they’re currently third in the league, behind Paris Saint-Germain and league leaders, Olympique Lyonnais.

Nnadozie clinched the Bruno Martini Award for Goalkeeping Revelation of the Season in the 2021/22 campaign and in the 2023/2024 season, she emerged victorious in the face of stiff competition from Lyon’s Christiane Endler and PSG’s Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, to claim the D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year award, and make the team of the year line-up, highlighting the range of talent housed in the French league.

After winning the award, the Super Falcons goalkeeper took to her social media platform to thank her teammates and everyone who made her dream come true.

“A big thanks to everyone who voted for me and also a special appreciation to my coaches and teammates for all the support and encouragement. To my amazing family and Naija fans, you’re too much. GOD DID,” the post read.

Nnadozie will be in action for the Super Falcons in the summer as they travel to Paris for the 2024 Olympics tournament.
