Bundesliga winner Victor Boniface, better finisher than Man City’s Haaland, Liverpool’s Núñez – CIES

Nigeria international Victor Boniface is one of the best centre-forwards in the world at the moment, Soccernet.ng reports.

According to a recent report by the CIES, Boniface ranks prominently among the top five strikers with the best shooting accuracy.

Among the over 13,000 players from 73 leagues around the world placed under watch between the beginning of April 2023 and the end of March 2024, Boniface is the fourth best among the top five leagues.

The Super Eagles striker is only behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Vfb Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav, and PSG’s Kylian Mbappe.

Boniface outshines Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson, Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

However, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski did not make the top ten.

Boniface, shining with Bayer Leverkusen

Despite being hampered by injury for about three months, Boniface remains Bayer Leverkusen’s highest goalscorer with 27 goal involvement in 26 games across all competitions.

The Nigerian forward has 11 goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga, five goals and one assist in the UEFA Europa League, and two goals in the DFB Pokal.

He opened the scoring from the penalty spot and assisted the second goal in a 5-0 win against Werder Bremen on Sunday, which confirmed Bayer Leverkusen as the Bundesliga champions for the first time in the club’s history.

Boniface is now considered one of the most valuable players in the Bayer Leverkusen squad.

The 23-year-old striker is now valued at €63.6 million, behind Florian Wirtz (€128.7m) and Jeremie Frimpong (€91.4m).

Interestingly, Bayer Leverkusen signed Boniface for €20.5 million from Union Saint Gilloise last summer.
