WATCH: Osayi-Samuel shows Anthony Joshua-like skills in chaotic Fenerbahce victory at Trabzonspor

The game ended 3-2 in Fenerbahce's favour, but the aftermarket was very chaotic

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel was forced to defend himself after a fan attacked him on the pitch in Fenerbahce’s 3-2 win over Trabzonspor at Papara Park, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osayi-Samuel has had an impressive season at Fenerbahce. The Nigeria defender has registered three goals and one assist in 16 appearances for the Yellow Canaries.

He started for the club in their Turkish Super Lig clash against Trabzonspor. Historically, the game has always been a feisty one, and it lived up to the billing.

Fred scored a brace to give Fenerbahce a two-goal lead heading into the break. However, goals from Enis Bardhi and Trezeguet made it square after 78 minutes. Already, the game had become feisty, with yellow cards flying around.

Then, in the 87th minute, Michy Batshuayi scored the winner and sealed the three points for Fenerbahce. A total of nine yellow cards were recorded in the second half.

However, after the game, the stadium got chaotic, with fans encroaching on the pitch. One fan who had a mask on even tried to attack Osayi-Samuel, but the Nigerian did not back away. Rather, he attacked the fan and gave him a hard punch, which sent him sprawling, in a situation reminiscent of the Anthony Joshua – Francis Ngannou fight. The fan even had to be helped by the security officials.

After everything was settled, Osayi-Samuel was met by a large number of fans outside the stadium, singing and chanting his name.

Trabzonspor’s win took them two points off leaders Galatasaray with eight games left this season.
