Victor Osimhen: Damiani reveals why Napoli & Nigeria star is better than Juventus striker Vlahovic

The two forwards have painted Serie A red with their goals and are among the most recognisable strikers in the world

Italian transfer market expert Oscar Damiani is convinced that Napoli star Victor Osimhen is a far better striker than Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen and Vlahović are often named among the best strikers in the business, alongside Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

Osimhen was the undisputed top man in Italy last season, scoring an unmatched 26 league goals to fire Napoli to the club’s first Scudetto title in 33 years.

Injury and participation at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has reduced his involvement for Napoli this season, with the Nigeria international boasting only 11 Serie A goals.

In Osimhen’s absence, Vlahović has stolen the headlines in Italy several times this season after netting 15 goals in 23 Serie A games.

Still, transfer market operator Damiani is convinced Osimhen remains a better forward than the Serbian footballer.

Compared with Osimhen’s all-action display for Napoli, Vlahović gives far little to Juventus other than goals, says Damiani.

“Between Osimhen and Vlahovic, I always choose the first,” Damiani said, as per Tutto Napoli.

“The Nigerian is one of the strongest attackers in the world; he is a force of nature. Vlahovic has scored many goals, but in terms of participation, he is not very high level even if he is a great striker.”

Osimhen has scored in each of his last three games for Napoli after his return from the AFCON with Nigeria.

The 25-year-old forward found the net against Barcelona and Cagliari before smashing an excellent hat-trick past Sassuolo.
