Post-football life of former Inter Milan and Super Eagles star: What is Obafemi Martins up to?

Obafemi Martins is determined to make the most of life after retiring from football in 2021

Retired Nigerian football icon Obafemi Martins has transitioned from scoring goals to exploring new passions and pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Super Eagles star, popularly known as ‘Obagoal’ bid farewell to his illustrious football career on January 1st 2021, culminating a journey that saw him leave an indelible mark on the global football stage, including memorable moments at Inter Milan F.C. and Newcastle F.C.

Following his retirement, Obagoal has made a strategic pivot into the world of business. To equip himself with the necessary skills and knowledge, he took an online course on Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, which is taught by HarvardX, a subsidiary of the prestigious Harvard University.

Amongst his other entrepreneurial ventures, the football legend’s most recent and prominent endeavor is his nightclub which made its debut in December 2023.

Obagoal has transitioned from the adrenaline-fueled moments on the football field to the captivating beats of the dance floor with his latest entrepreneurial pursuit: Cosa Nostra Patron, a nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Located in the hub of Lagos nightlife, Cosa Nostra Patron, boasts a stylish and contemporary design, setting the stage for unforgettable nights of music, dancing and celebration. Alongside his wife Nadine, Obafemi co-owns this exquisite establishment, promising patrons premium nightlife experience and a taste of Italy in Lagos.

Obafemi and his lover set tongues wagging back in August 2021 when they got married in a private ceremony. The dynamic duo has elevated their relationship beyond romance to become formidable business partners.

Even though he is retired from the pitch, Obagoal remains dedicated to staying in top shape, often seen putting in hours at the gym.

After an illustrious 20-year career as a footballer, the legend is determined to maximize life beyond the sport.
