“How do you replace him?” – Former England boss fears Napoli’s decline if Osimhen leaves

Former England manager, Fabio Capello, has revealed that it is almost impossible for Napoli to replace Victor Osimhen if he decides to leave the club in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen, 25, scored 26 goals in the Italian Serie A last term to help Napoli win the Serie A title for the first time in over three decades.

Away from the team awards, the Nigerian striker was also placed 8th in the Ballon d’Or rankings, won the Italian Player of the Year award, and the CAF Player of the Year award.

Despite missing the majority of the season due to an injury, the former Lille man has scored eleven goals in fifteen games for Die Partonepei and has been linked with a move away from Italy, with several European clubs interested in the 1.85m tall striker.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are among the top European clubs circling the Nigerian to help bolster their attack, and former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello, believes Osimhen’s departure will leave a hole in the heart of the Napoli team and their fans.

“How do you replace Osimhen next year? Million dollar question, there are no players around to replace Osimhen. You would have to have a crystal ball to find him,” the former England coach told II Martino in quotes revealed by Area Napoli.

The former Wolfsburg striker has a hundred and thirty million euros in his release clause, and Napoli President, Aurelien De Laurentiis has revealed he won’t stand in the players’ path if he wants to leave, as long as the release clause is triggered.
