All members of the Super Eagles delegation to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire have landed back in Nigeria following the conclusion of the competition, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Super Eagles won the silver medal at the tournament after finishing as runners-up to Cote d’Ivoire.

The Ivorians defeated Nigeria 2-1 in the final played at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday, February 11.

At the AFCON, Nigeria won five matches, drew one, and lost only one as the Jose Peseiro-led Super Eagles enjoyed a fantastic tournament.

Upon their return to the country, the Super Eagles players and officials were received at the State House Council Chambers by Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President Tinubu lauded the team for its resilience at the competition and for lifting the spirit of the nation with their performances.

Nigeria’s number one citizen after that awarded all the members of Team Nigeria the national honour of the Member of the Order of Niger (MON).

Apart from the national honour, the players and officials were also offered one flat and a plot of land each in the Federal Capital Territory as a sign of gratitude for their service.
