Super Eagles team update: No injury worries as Nigeria prepares to face South Africa in 2023 AFCON semi-final

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle South Africa at the Peace Stadium on Wednesday with the hope of securing a spot in the final

Soccernet.ng can exclusively report that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are fully prepared to face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash.

Following Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Angola, courtesy of Ademola Lookman’s decisive strike, they have secured a spot in the semi-final against South Africa.

Although today’s training session for the Nigerian national team was conducted behind closed doors, there were no reported injuries during or after the clash with Angola.

As a result, the Super Eagles are expected to field their key players, including their standout goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, and the in-form Atalanta forward, Lookman, who has netted three goals in Nigeria’s last three matches.

William Troost-Ekong, who mentioned managing a knock ahead of the Angola game, has been able to feature effectively for Nigeria, leading the defense despite the minor injury.

Similarly, Alhassan Yusuf, recovering from a knock sustained in the opening game against Equatorial Guinea, has fully recuperated and earned valuable minutes in the match against Angola.

The upcoming clash between Nigeria and South Africa will take place at the Peace Stadium in Bouake, with Jose Peseiro’s team aiming to provide fans with another reason to cheer.
