“I don’t like rushing”- Stanley Nwabali on possible transfer to Europe after impressive AFCON performance

Nwabali impressed at the AFCON, and there is a possibility that he will leave Chippa United soon

Super Eagles goalkeeper has insisted that he is not in a hurry to leave Chippa United despite his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nwabali was very impressive for Nigeria at the AFCON. The Chippa United star replaced Francis Uzoho as the first-choice goalkeeper despite just joining the national team fold prior to the AFCON.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper kept four clean sheets for Nigeria at the AFCON and saved two penalties in the semi-final against South Africa.

Following his impressive displays, there have been talks that Nwabali could leave Chippa United for Europe soon.

“People have been sending messages like they want me to move to Europe or they want me to move to a bigger club”, Nwabali told Arise News.

“I really appreciate that, but to be honest, one thing about me is that I always feel comfortable even if I’m in a small place; I don’t like to rush.”

As it stands, it would be tough for Nwabali to get a move to any of the top five European leagues. If he eventually moves, it would likely be to one of the smaller leagues.
