Victor Boniface: Bayer Leverkusen striker makes acting debut days before AFCON kicks off in Ivory Coast

The former Union Saint Gilloise star is the revelation of the season so far in Germany, but his talents may go beyond the football pitch

In-form Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has showcased a different set of skills following his collaboration with popular skit-maker Pepper Mouth, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface, currently in Nigeria for the winter break and gearing up for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), is known for his funny takes and bants on Twitter, which has seen him become one of the most followed Super Eagles stars on social media.

The 2022/2023 Europa League top scorer, however, took his flair for comedy to new heights in the viral video.

In the video circulating on social platforms, Boniface, lying on a bed in a cosy, well-furnished room, warmly receives Pepper Mouth, who portrays a character in dire need of financial assistance.

Boniface generously offers a substantial sum of money to his financially strapped friend.

However, the recipient expresses dissatisfaction, returning the cash and asserting the expectation of a more substantial contribution, citing the substantial weekly earnings of footballers.

In a twist of humour, Boniface responds by presenting a pair of boots and a jersey, advising Pepper Mouth to try his luck as a footballer and hustle for his own income.

The video swiftly gained traction across Instagram and Twitter, drawing hundreds of comments as fans shared their amusement.

In the coming days, Boniface will shift his focus from skit-making to the serious business of representing Nigeria in the AFCON.

A key asset to the Super Eagles, Boniface, a four-time Bundesliga Rookie of the Month, aims to contribute to Nigeria’s success in the tournament hosted in Ivory Coast.

Having netted an impressive 16 goals across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season, Boniface is poised to be a standout force in Nigeria’s attacking lineup.

The Super Eagles find themselves in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea, with Boniface aiming to propel his team to glory in the quest for AFCON success.
