The reigning Africa Women’s Player of the Year continues her excellent, trophy-laden spell at the Spanish and European giants
Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala lifted her first trophy of the year 2024 following Barcelona’s triumph in the Supercopa Femenina, Soccernet.ng reports.
Oshoala was a second-half substitute as Barcelona produced an attacking masterclass to beat Levante 7-0 in the final played inside the Estadio Municipal de Butarque in Leganés.
Barcelona’s dominance was total in the first half as a brace each from Salma Paralluelo and Graham Hansen, as well as an Ona Batlle strike, gave the Jonatan Giráldez-tutored ladies a 5-0 advantage at halftime.
After the break, Graham Hansen completed her hat-trick before Aitana Bonmatí scored in the 57th minute.
Oshoala was introduced from the bench in the 64th minute but could not add to Barcelona’s tally.

To get to the finals, Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 4-0, while Levante shot down Rasheedat Ajibade’s Atletico Madrid 3-1.
Oshoala has now clinched 12 club honours since joining Barcelona in 2019.
The former Rivers Angels star has celebrated four Spanish league titles, two UEFA Women’s Champions League honours, three Copa de la Reina, and three Supercopa de España Femenina.
Oshoala’s success makes her the most successful African woman in European football history.
Aside from multiple club honours, several individual accolades have followed Oshoala since she became a Barcelona player.
The FC Robo product won three of her six African Women’s Footballer of the Year awards while in Spain.
Oshoala finished as the Primera División’s top scorer in 2022, the first Nigerian to do the same, a few months after she was named the IFFHS Women’s CAF Best Player of the Year.
However, Oshoala’s current contract with Barcelona expires in June 2024.
