Jennifer Echegini: Juventus favourites to land award-winning Super Falcons star set to leave Florida State Seminoles

Italian giants Juventus appear to be leading the race to secure the talents of Super Falcons forward Jennifer Echegini, Soccernet.ng reports.

The development comes after Echegini signalled her departure from the Florida State women’s soccer team in December following the end of her two-year stint, capping off an illustrious chapter in her collegiate career.

Echegini’s stellar 2023 campaign was highlighted by her recognition as the Honda Sport Award winner for women’s soccer, an accolade she received in December.

The senior from London, England, played a pivotal role in the Seminoles’ triumphant journey to becoming the 2023 National Champions, contributing with a remarkable career-high and ACC-leading 16 goals.

Additionally, she earned the title of ACC Offensive Player of the Year and was crowned ACC Tournament MVP, underscoring her impact on the pitch.

Echegini’s extraordinary achievements extend beyond the collegiate realm, as she was a key member of the Super Falcons squad during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Currently, Echegini is a nominee for the prestigious MAC Hermann trophy, the winner of which will be announced on January 5.

Following Echegini’s excellent campaign, Juventus, keen on bolstering their squad with top-tier talent, have set their sights on Echegini, according to TMW.

The reports suggest that negotiations are in progress, with the Italian club aiming to bring the accomplished forward back to play in Europe.

Born and raised in London, England, Echegini’s early years in youth football were with Arsenal.
