I love Okocha in that period— Ex-Man City star Yaya Toure

Super Eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha was admired by football fans in Africa and across the globe for his entertaining style of football

Former Manchester City player Yaya Toure has openly praised Austin Jay Jay Okocha’s exceptional creativity in building his perfect African Football Player, Soccernet.ng reports.

While selecting attributes for his ideal player, Toure expressed admiration for Okocha’s football intelligence during his prime years, spanning from Germany to France and eventually England.

Okocha was known for his football skills, and mostly his dribbles which piqued the interest of many European clubs during his playing days.

Toure’s ultimate player would possess Samuel Eto’s right foot, Kanga Akale’s left foot, Bakare Koni’s speed, Didier Drogba’s strength, and Okocha’s renowned football intelligence.

For picking Okocha’s football intelligence, the former Barcelona player fondly expressed his love for Okocha during his days.

He said: “Okocha, I love Okocha in that period.”

The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who earned 73 caps for the Nigeria national team from 1993 to 2006, scoring 14 goals, is hailed as one of Africa’s greatest footballers.

His versatile career saw him play across various leagues, starting from Enugu Rangers in the Nigerian Professional Football League to Borussia Neunkirchen in Germany’s third division, the Oberliga Südwest, in July 1990.
