Afcon 2023: When is the game between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea and how can I watch?

Soccernet.ng brings you everything you need to know about the Super Eagles’ Afcon opener against Juan Micha’s Elephants

Nigeria begin their quest to become African champions for the fourth time when they square up against Equatorial Guinea.

The Super Eagles – who finished ninth at Cameroon 2021 – are making their 20th appearance in the finals, and they would be hoping to emulate their 1980, 1994 and 2013 feats.

For the Elephants, their last outing was awe-inspiring as they reached the quarter-final before they were shown the exit door by eventual winners, Senegal.

Blessed with stars like Huddersfield Town’s Charles Ondo, Alaves goalkeeper Jesus Owono and Sampdoria’s Hugo Buyla, , the Central Africans would fancy their chances of reaching the knockout phase.

To achieve that, Juan Micha’s men must negotiate their way past the Super Eagles, hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea Bissau in Group A.

More importantly, they will be eyeing all points against Jose Peseiro’s side to begin their campaign on a flying note.
