The Super Eagles failed to impress against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday, but Yemi Alade remains confident in the team
Nigeria Afrobeats star Yemi Alade has shown support for the Super Eagles ahead of their second Africa Cup of Nations game against Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles began their quest for a fourth African title on Sunday with a game against Equatorial Guinea. They were favourites to pick up the win, but they flattered to deceive, and had to settle for a 1-1 in the end.
Afrobeats star Yemi Alade, who performed at the opening ceremony of the tournament on Saturday, was also on hand to watch and support the Super Eagles when they played on Sunday.
She shared a video of her and her team at Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan cheering the lads.
Despite the result, Yemi Alade is confident that the Super Eagles will return to their best in their next game against Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday.
“The boys will bounce back”, the Nigerian Afrobeats star wrote on X.
The Super Eagles are condemned to get a win or at least a draw against Cote d’Ivoire. If they fail to do so, they may be on their way out of the Nations Cup.
