Yira Sor and Tolu Arokodare shine as Genk secures victory over Eupen

Yira Sor who played a crucial role in KRC Genk’s draw against KAA Gent, has built on his previous performance

Nigerian forwards Yira Sor and Tolu Arokodare showcased their prowess as KRC Genk triumphed over Eupen in a Belgian Pro League round 17 encounter, Soccernet.ng reports.

In their quest for a win, the Smurfs claimed a 3-1 victory at Kehrwegstasion, with Sor and Arokodare contributing crucial goals that sealed the three points for the visiting team.

A week prior, Sor’s impact was evident as he played a pivotal role, securing a brace in Genk’s 2-2 draw against the Ghent-based club.

Today, Sor showcased his influence once again, netting the sole goal in the dying moments of the first half of the match.

In the second half, Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil extended the away side’s lead before Regan Charles-Cook pulled one back for the home team.

Arokodare stepped in for Sor moments before the game concluded, showcasing an impressive 10-minute performance. He became the second Nigerian to score that day, securing a goal in the 90+2nd minute to further extend the visitors’ lead.

Next up for Genk is a Europa Conference League fixture against Cukaricki at the Cegeka Arena. Sor and Arokodare will aim to propel their team towards another victory in this upcoming encounter.
