Victor Osimhen won the Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Footballer of the Year award four days ago when the event was hosted in Milan.
A Nigerian content creator, Reckson Joshua, has gone viral after posting a video imitating Victor Osimhen and the inspiration he depicts for Nigerians, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen has enjoyed success in Naples and has been breaking records since he joined the club in 2020. Last season, Osimhen scored twenty-six league goals to help his club lift the Scudetto for the first time in over three decades.
His spectacular season with the Gli Azzuri has seen him placed 8th in the Ballon d’Or rankings, alongside FIFA and CAF Player of the Year awards.
In Nigeria, Osimhen is an inspiration to many, even to the children on the streets. As someone who came from almost nothing, he depicts a beacon of hope for the next generation, emphasising that through hard work, their goals can be accomplished.
In the video posted by Reckson Joshua, he imitated an Osimhen documentary, talking about his story from the streets of Lagos to being the King of Napoli. Watch the video here.

At the top, Victor’s humility still knows no bounds, and he showed that last summer when he came to Lagos to play football with his childhood friends and greet his secondary school teacher.
The Nigerian will be in action tonight for Napoli as they take on Juventus in a scintillating Serie A clash.
