Serie A: Super Eagles striker set to return to starting lineup against Inter Milan

Victor Osimhen missed the last four weeks due to a hamstring injury but returned last weekend to help Napoli secure all three points in Bergamo against Atalanta.

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen is set to return to Napoli’s starting line-up in their big match-up against Inter Milan tomorrow evening, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old striker scored twenty-six goals to help the Gli Azzuri win the league last term but hasn’t replicated the form this term.

A fall-out with Rudi Garcia and two subsequent injuries has seen the Super Eagles forward subjected to just six goals and an assist in nine outings.

The former Wolfsburg striker missed a huge portion of November due to a hamstring injury, and since his return, has been subject to minutes from the bench, with Giacomo Raspadori and Giovanni Simeone taking turns to fill in for Osimhen.

According to reports from FC Inter News, Osimhen has completely recovered from the injury to his right thigh and will be in the starting eleven tomorrow.

This will be the first time the striker starts under coach Walter Mazzarri, who replaced Rudi Garcia at the helm following the Frenchman’s sacking before the international break.

This news comes as a massive boost for the Napoli supporters who have missed the Capocannoniere winner and the positive aura he brings to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Despite being linked to a transfer away from Italy, news seems to have surfaced, hinting that Osimhen might renew his contract with Napoli.
