Serie A: Milan Technical Director praises Samuel Chukwueze’s work ethic

Samuel Chukwueze’s late goal against Newcastle ensured that the Rossoneri will continue their European journey in the UEFA Europa League.

A.C. Milan’s Technical director, Geoffrey Moncada, has praised Super Eagles right winger, Samuel Chukwueze for his immense work rate since he joined the club in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Spanish side, Villareal in a €20 million deal, with €8m in add-ons, including performance-related clauses.

The Nigerian didn’t hit the ground running immediately, but after a while, looks to be getting into his groove after scoring in back-to-back UEFA Champions League games.

The seven-time UEFA Champions League winners were drawn alongside Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund in what was labelled the “group of death”.

Milan needed a win at Saint James’s Park but also needed help from the fixture between Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-German at the Signal Iduna Park, but the game ended in a draw, meaning Chukwueze’s late winner was just enough to seal Milan’s UEFA Europa League spot.

In quotes revealed by Siempre Milan, the club’s Technical director singled out Luka Jovic and Samuel Chukwueze for praise after the game in Newcastle.

“Jovic has been doing interesting things for five games, and I’m happy for Chukwueze because he’s a good guy who works a lot and I’m sure that the future for him will be good for us,” the 37-year-old technical director said.

Milan return to the Serie A to continue their journey in the league as they welcome Monza to the San Siro. Three points will bring them within five points of Juventus who are in second place with thirty-seven points.
