Nuno Espirito Santo at Nottingham Forest: Is there a chance for Emmanuel Dennis?

Emmanuel Dennis is currently on a season-long loan in İstanbul Başakşehir F.K after a failed 2022-23 stint

Nuno Espirito Santo has taken the reins at Nottingham Forest, succeeding Steve Cooper after a challenging stretch during the 2023–24 season, marked by a mere win in 13 matches, Soccernet.ng reports.

This transition has sparked queries among players within the Tricky Tree’s squad, including Emmanuel Dennis, currently on loan at İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. in Turkey.

Dennis had found himself sidelined under Cooper, managing only seven starts out of 19 appearances in the English Premier League—a disappointing turn following his move from Watford FC in the 2022–23 season.

Nuno, however, has emphasised an inclusive approach, indicating a fresh start for all players, including Dennis, who has earned a spot in Jose Peseiro’s provisional squad.

Speaking about managing a larger squad, Nuno acknowledged the challenge, stating, “In terms of numbers, I have to be honest with you, I have never managed a squad of 30 players so that is a challenge for us also.

“For the players, I told them it is now a new chance for everybody, it is an opportunity for players who before didn’t play. It is a new chance for everybody.

“My door is open for everybody. What I want is everybody involved, everybody committed so we can have more options and it can make us stronger.”

Nuno also hinted at potential January transfers to strengthen the team, although recalling Dennis might not be ideal at the moment, considering his struggle in Turkey, where he has yet to register a goal or an assist in the Süper Lig.
