“Im happy”- Napoli captain praises Osimhen after scoring in UCL clash against Braga

Osimhen had not scored in his previous four games, but he got back on the scoresheet when Napoli beat Braga

Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo has praised Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after his goal in their 2-0 win over Braga in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

After claiming the CAF Player of The Year Award on Monday, Osimhen returned to Napoli’s squad for their Champions League clash against Portuguese side Braga.

The Partenopeans took the lead via Serdar Saatci in the 9th minute. Then Osimehn got the second for the Partenopeans in the 33rd minute to seal the win for the Italian kings.

Following their victory, Napoli captain Di Lorenzo iterated his satisfaction with the result. He also defended Osimhen for traveling to Morocco to receive the CAF POTY Award on Monday despite having a crucial game on Tuesday.

“Traveling doesn’t lead to tiredness, it was an important prize and it was right that he went to collect it,” Di Lorenzo said per Napoli Magazine.

“I’m interested in what he gives on the pitch and in training, no one has ever questioned his commitment and attitude, just look at it. I’m happy that he’s back to scoring, it’s important for him.”

Next up for Napoli is a home fixture against Cagliari, and Osimhen would be looking to add another goal to his kitty.
