Leicester have won eighteen games in the English Championships this season, and are on course to secure promotion to the English top-flight.
Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, played ninety minutes as Leicester City held on for a rare 3-2 win away to Birmingham in the Championships, Soccernet.ng reports.
Enzo Maresca’s men have been on a good run of form lately, winning four of their last five games, with just one draw coming against Sheffield Wednesday.
Patson Daka, Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu started as the attacking trio up-front, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Jamie on the bench for the Foxes and they opened the scoring inside ten minutes of the game.
A breakaway from a Birmingham corner kick freed Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu on a counter-attack. Ghanian Fatawu fed Mavidi who wasted no time in scoring his sixth league goal of the season.
Jordan James levelled the scores for the host four minutes later, before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put Leicester in front again. Wilfred Ndidi won the ball on the edge of Leicester’s box before Fatawu took the ball to feed Dewsbury-Hall who dribbled past the goalkeeper before placing the ball into an empty goal.
Five minutes into the second half, Mavididi scored his seventh of the season. A misplaced cross fell into the path of Dewsbury-Hall who in turn fed Mavididi to score Leicester’s third on the night.
Jordan James scored another goal with fifteen minutes to go, but Enzo Maresca’s men held on to secure a three-point distance from Ipswich Town who are currently second on the Championship Table.
Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, would be proud of the shift Ndidi put in today as the former Genk man played ninety minutes after recovering from an injury.
