Why Sadiq impressed against Sevilla– Real Sociedad coach Alguacil

Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq scored his first goal since his September with a stunning striker against Sevilla

Real Sociedad’s manager, Imanol Alguacil, lauded Sadiq’s pivotal role following their hard-fought win against Sevilla, Soccernet.ng reports.

Expressing contentment with Sadiq’s breakthrough after a goal drought, the Spanish manager highlighted the player’s contributions that extended beyond scoring.

The Royal secured a crucial victory against Sevilla, clinching three points in a captivating match that began with Barrene’s third-minute free kick catching Dmitrovic off guard.

Continuing their dominance, Sadiq displayed brilliance with a remarkable solo effort, securing his first goal of the 2023-24 season campaign from a stunning distance.

Despite Sevilla’s second-half rally, Remiro’s steadfast defense thwarted En-Nesyri’s attempts, enabling Real Sociedad to maintain their lead.

Alguacil highlighted the collective effort behind Sadiq’s success against Sevilla, emphasizing the various contributors in the player’s development.

“We are all helping Sadiq,” stated Alguacil in his post-match address. “The impact of any conversation with the coach is significant, but we have a sports director, a president, a psychologist, his teammates… The coach has always shown him unconditional support, whether he played or not.”

Alguacil credited Sadiq’s impact beyond the stunning goal, pointing out his consistent positive contributions whenever he took to the field.

“Every time he has started or come off the bench, he has always had his options and has done things well,” Alguacil affirmed.

The victory for the White and Blue sets the stage for their forthcoming UEFA Champions League clash against Salzburg, with Sadiq poised to capitalize on his impact against Sevilla.
