The Super Eagles have a crunch tie against Lesotho on Thursday, and Boniface is mentally ready for the tie
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has declared that the team is targeting a victory when they play Lesotho in the opening fixture of the 2026 World Cup qualifier, Soccernet reports.
Nigeria take on Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday in their opening game of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria failed to qualify for the last Mundial after losing to Ghana on aggregate goals. So, Jose Peseiro’s lads would have to put their all into these qualifiers to ensure no repeat of what happened last time.
Jose Peseiro called up a strong squad for the game, albeit Victor Osimhen missed out because of an injury.
Nonetheless, Bayer Leverkusen star Boniface will be looking to deliver the goods for the three-time African champions.
Ahead of the game against Lesotho, the 22-year-old hitman has declared that he is ready to help Nigeria get the victory.
“I’m ready, I’m focused, and we are determined. I’ll try to do my best, give 100 percent. And for sure try to win the game. That’s the most important thing,” Boniface told NFF TV.
The last time Nigeria met Lesotho, they got a 3-0 win. They will be looking to replicate that kind of result in Uyo on Thursday.
