The Super Eagles star missed Nigeria’s World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, but he is set to return to action
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has returned to training at Leicester City after missing the last four weeks due to a muscle injury, Soccernet reports.
Ndidi has been out of action since the last week of October when he sustained a muscle injury after Leicester City’s 3-1 victory over Swansea City in the Championship.
The injury ensured that he missed Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe last week. His absence in the Super Eagles squad was felt as the three-time African champions picked up just two points from the two games.
However, the 26-year-old midfielder looks set to return to action soon, as he has resumed personal training at Leicester City. Ndidi shared videos of himself doing some work on the pitch on Tuesday, which is a good signal.
Leicester City boss Enzo MarescaLeicester City boss Enzo Maresca is yet to give a new update on the situation of the former Genk man. Still, it is unlikely that he will be fit enough for the Foxes’ Championship game against Watford this weekend.
Nonetheless, he should be fit enough when they travel to Hillsborough to take on Sheffield Wednesday in two weeks’ time.
