‘I would have loved to’– Dozy Mmobuosi reacts to failed Sheffield United takeover

Dozy Mmobuosi, whose takeover bid at Sheffield United was recently rejected, has recently founded a new club in Surulere Lagos in order to spark a rivalry between Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos

Nigerian businessman Dozy Mmobuosi has expressed that he does not view the Sheffield United takeover collapse as a failed bid, Soccernet.ng reports.

The tech entrepreneur made an attempt to take over the English football league club, which was on the verge of promotion to the top-flight division. However, due to an unreached agreement, the deal fell through.

Speaking on Arise TV, the African tycoon revealed his intention not to make any comment on the failed attempt but specifically stated that the bid was not a failure.

“I would have loved to avoid this, but let me just be clear to Nigerians and everyone around the world. I don’t see it as a failed bid. I have not responded in many months because that is just the way it should be for now,” he said.

When asked if he would return to make a new bid for another club on his list, he did not reject the possibility of returning for another bid.

Mmobuosi added: “Fingers crossed, let’s see how it goes. I don’t wish to say anything further on this subject matter. Right now, it is about 1472 FC, and whenever there is an opportunity to do anything anywhere in the world, I’m there.”

Mmobuosi has the motive of improving the Nigerian football league and has therefore urged other prominent businessmen in Nigeria to consider investing in the Nigerian league.
