The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to tackle Zimbabwe on the 19th of November for the 2026 FIFA World Cup clash
Head coach of the Zimbabwean national football team,Baltemar Brito, has made an impassioned plea for the nation to rally behind the Warriors as they prepare for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria on November 15 and 19, respectively, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria, yet to release their squad list for the clash, but now know which of the Zimbabwean players they will be exchanging tackles with in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Brito who has his provisional squad list ready, stressed the importance of the Warriors receiving the support of the nation to ensure a strong start in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Sending a warning message to Jose Peseiro’s troops, he has revealed his objective to secure a good result for the Zimbabwean football fans.
“Let’s unite and rally behind the national team. We are here to try to do our best, Everyone is here to do their best, so we expect the nation to give the best of support.
“We will try to create a good moment for them [fans]” Brito said, as quoted by the official page of the Zimbabwe Football Association.
With their campaign kicking off with an away match in Rwanda, followed by a home fixture against Nigeria just four days later, the Warriors aim to create memorable moments for their fans.
The highly anticipated match against Nigeria is scheduled to take place at Huye Stadium on Wednesday, November 19, promising an exciting showdown as Zimbabwe strives for World Cup qualification.
