‘Bomber’ – Ex-Lazio star reacts as Ighalo ends seven-game goal drought with hat-trick

Odion Ighalo joined Al-Wehda during the summer transfer window after his contract with Al-Hilal ended

Former Super Eagles star, Ogenyi Onazi, responded to Odion Ighalo’s hat-trick for Al-Wehda against Al Kheeja in a Saudi Professional League clash, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Super Eagles standout, who joined the Makkah-based club in the 2023 Summer transfer window, has netted eight goals in 12 appearances in the Saudi Pro League.

The former Manchester United forward had faced a goal drought spanning seven games but reasserted himself as a formidable striker by ending this dry spell with a hat-trick.

The Saudi Pro League’s official page on Instagram tagged Ighalo in a video showcasing his goals.

Abdulaziz Noor made the first assist for the Nigerian who opened the scoring for the hosts in the 3rd minutes of the game, before Fabio Martin’s goal level the score line before halftime.

Ighalo slotted in a lead in the early minutes of the second half before smashing in a goal from the penalty spot to seal the victory for the home side.

His compatriot and former Lazio midfielder, Onazi, reacted with a single-word caption: ‘Bomber.’ While Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins also took notice, acknowledging Ighalo’s impressive performance with ‘fefee.’

Before his move to Al Wehda, Ighalo impressed at Al Hilal, scoring a considerable number of goals for them before his contract expired, leading to Neymar Jr.’s arrival as his replacement.
