Watch: Ndidi’s playful wake-up call teases Leicester’s Issahaku caught napping after training

Wilfred Ndidi and Fatawu are currently firing an impressive performance for Leicester City, which has greatly helped in propelling the Foxes to the top of the EFL Championship table

Super Eagles star, Wilfred Ndidi, shared a lighthearted moment on social media involving his Leicester City teammate, Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Soccernet.ng reports.

Following a training session with their club, Issahaku, who is on loan season long loan at Leicester from Sporting CP, was spotted taking a nap in the gym, clearly exhausted from the workout.

After this, Ndidi, known for his sense of humor, couldn’t resist having some fun. In a video shared on social media, he playfully teased Issahaku, asking, “You came from Africa to sleep over here?”

The remark roused the 19-year-old Ghanaian, who woke up with a smile, realizing he had been caught napping by the Super Eagles midfielder.

Meanwhile, it is safe to say that Ndidi and Issahaku have been in excellent form for Leicester City, helping Enzo Maresca’s men climb to the top of the English Championship table.

Despite his impressive performances, Issahaku was not named in Ghana’s squad for the international friendlies against Mexico and the United States.

Nevertheless, he will be eager to earn a spot in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated to hold in Ivory Coast.

On the other hand, Ndidi remains a crucial figure for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who are determined to secure their fourth AFCON title in Ivory Coast.

Following their draw against Saudi Arabia, Nigeria is set to face Mozambique in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
