Victor Osimhen is a nominee of both the FIFA Best Player Award and the France football’s Ballon d’Or award after a huge season with Napoli.
Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, got into another altercation with fans in Naples after a new video surfaced, Soccernet.ng reports.
The striker had a stellar season with Napoli last term, winning the Capocannoniere Award after scoring 26 goals and setting up another four goals in 30 games.
His relationship with the club and the fans, since then, however, looks to have somewhat deteriorated. With contract talks stalling, and the change in the coach leading to a poor run of form, leaving the ex-Lille man frustrated.
Just before the international break, Napoli posted a video on their official TikTok account, mocking the Nigerian for pleading for a penalty and missing the resulting kick, and another video relating his looks to that of a coconut.
Days after, another video surfaced where the 24-year-old visibly ignored a handshake from club captain, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, after the striker had a touchline altercation with Rudi Garcia on the touchline after he was substituted.
Yesterday, a video surfaced on the internet, where the Super Eagles talisman was visibly angry at fans who wanted him to sign autographs. From the video, it looked like the fans had caused a scratch on Osimhen’s car, and he was visibly annoyed.
The fans tried to pacify the Napoli man, but he wounded his glass in frustration.
With his contract expiring in 2025, the Napoli hierarchy will most likely be looking to cash in on the Nigerian, as both parties continue to drift apart, making it increasingly unlikely for Osimhen to extend his stay at the club beyond his current contract.
He is still unavailable to play for the club after picking an injury during the international break, in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia.
