Osimhen yet to return to Napoli despite hamstring injury

Osimhen sustained an injury while on duty for the Super Eagles, but he is yet to return to his club to get the full treatment

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is still in Nigeria despite sustaining a hamstring injury in Nigeria’s game against Saudi Arabia during the last international break, Soccernet reports.

The 24-year-old was in action for the Super Eagles when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia during the last international break. However, he could not play the full match as he was substituted out just few minutes into the second half because of an injury.

Then, it was later confirmed that the Napoli talisman had sustained a muscle injury and would be out for 40 days.

However, in a related development per Napoli Magazine, Osimhen is still in Nigeria undergoing rehabilitation because of “a personal issue”. But he could return to Naples next week.

This could be linked to the ongoing brouhaha he has with his sister and her husband, who accused him of sending police officers to harass them.

Nonetheless, he would look to solve the problems as soon as possible and focus on his recovery. Napoli are five points adrift of the top of the Serie A table, and they need to start racking up points before they fall off. And for that to happen, Osimhen has to be fully fit and at the top of his game.
