Ola Aina joined Nottingham Forrest from Torino on a year-long deal and has been a regular for Steve Cooper’s side.
Super Eagles’ full-back, Ola Aina has reacted to being elected as Nottingham Forrest’s player of the month for September, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old featured in all three of Nottingham’s Premier League fixtures last month, including their win away to Chelsea.
The versatile full-backs also featured in Nigeria’s 6-0 demolition of Sao Tome and Principe, playing seventy-three minutes at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
This comes as a success for the Super Eagles after Taiwo Awoniyi secured the Player of the Month award for the month of August. Aina joined the Reds from Torino on a one-year deal and has been a regular for Steve Cooper’s side.
He’s been featuring at right or left back when needed, and the consistency of the full-back has been rewarded with an inclusion in Jose Peseiro’s squad list to feature in Nigeria’s friendly game against Saudi Arabia during the October International break.
Reacting to his award, the full-back posted on his Instagram story, thanking the fans for their support. The message read; “I did a thing, thank you for the support.”
On the flip side, Callum Hudson-Odoi’s brilliant curler, assisted by Taiwo Awoniyi won Nottingham Forest’s goal of the Month for September.
Back-to-back success for Nigerians at Nottingham Forrest, and the fans back home will be hoping the Super Eagles duo at the club can replicate the same form during the International break.
