German defender Antonio Rudigier mimicked Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface’s celebration when he scored the opening goal for Germany in their 2-2 draw against Mexico in an international friendly on Wednesday, Soccernet reports.
Boniface has taken Germany by storm this season, registering nine goals and three assists in ten appearances for Leverkusen. Asides from his his skills with the ball and goalscoring prowess, he has also gained popularity for his social media memes and peculiar goal celebration.
Whenever, he scores the 22-year-old striker runs the corner flag in a funny manner.
Apparently, Boniface has already won Rudigier over with his celebration, as the former Chelsea defender copied his celebration after he scored for Germany on Wednesday.
Unfortunately for Rudigier, Germany drew the game 2-2. But after the game, the Real Madrid star revealed that he drew inspiration from Boniface.
Unfortunately for the Super Eagles star, he was unable to showcase his goal celebration during the international break because he did not score.
Nonetheless, he would be looking to return to his scoring form at Bayer Leverkusen when they play Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
