‘It’s a shame’– Davido blasts Amaju Pinnick, questions his NFF presidency

Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has recently slammed Davido for not fulfilling his own part of his agreement

Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has strongly criticized former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, for his tenure’s administrative issues, Soccernet.ng reports.

The artist recently fired back at Pinnick, who is also the former Delta State FA chairman, following allegations of a no-show by Davido at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again’ event.

Previously, FIFA executive member Pinnick claimed that Davido had been paid a substantial amount of $94,600 but had not fulfilled his part of the agreement.

In response to the emerging dispute, Davido used his social media platform to explain the situation and apologize to his fans.

“I was not going to be physically able to make it, and this had been communicated to them for a longgggg while now, I mean MONTHS ago. But for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name. It’s a shame.” Davido clarified.

However, the dispute escalated as Davido accused Pinnick of financial misconduct during his tenure, including allegations of embezzlement and unpaid allowances for Nigerian football players.

“The man that dropped from the RR is Amaju Pinnick. He was NFF president for just 8 years. He was charged for allegedly misappropriating $8.4m paid by FIFA to NFF. I won’t mention allegations of unpaid allowances by players when he was the president,” Davido wrote.

In his response, Davido implied that Pinnick should not be the first to accuse others of misconduct given the allegations of financial wrongdoing during his tenure.

He further stated that if he were to return any money, he would donate it to a football charity organization and even double the amount. He emphasized that many Nigerian footballers have seen their dreams crushed due to financial issues.

The social media exchange has garnered significant attention from fans and the public, leaving questions about whether Davido will fulfill his part of the agreement.
