“We were intrigued”- Slovan Liberec Sporting Director delighted to sign 20-year-old Nigerian Striker

Czech Republic side, Slovan Liberec and their Sporting Director have expressed their delight after signing young Nigerian striker, Chidera Michael Okoh.
Czech Republic league side, Slovan Liberec have secured the services of twenty-year-old Nigerian striker, Chidera Michael Okoh on a season-long loan deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
Slovan Liberec have announced the signature of twenty-year-old Chidera Micheal Okoh joining from Malta’s Mosta FC, where he scored fourteen goals in nineteen games last season. The young striker is a native of Enugu state, and standing at 1.93m tall, he looks poised to continue his remarkable growth after leaving at Nigerian side, Divine Praise FC just over a year ago to join Malta’s Mosta F.C.
Now on loan at the European side, Slovan Liberec, the club’s Sporting Director, Zdeněk Koukal, expressed his delight at the chance he has to have the Nigerian on their books. According to the club’s official website, Koukal said;

“This is a young talented player who was with us in the summer for the tests in which we were intrigued, and so we decided to give him a chance. He is coming to the hosting until the end of the season, with the transfer option.”

Young Chidera is also delighted with the way the deal turned out and admitted the transition from leaving Nigeria to playing in Europe has not been an easy one.

“I am happy to be in Liberec. It’s a big chance for me to continue to improve. The transition from Africa to Europe at such a young age was not easy for me.”

Chidera took several training sessions with Liberec’s senior team in the summer and added more on Tuesday afternoon, just after signing the contract, and wants to get down to business as soon as possible.

“I’ve had great training sessions with quality teammates here. It will definitely help me.  I would like to get ahead and contribute to team achievements with my goals.”

Slovan added Okoh to help their attack as they’ve been struggling for goals in their current campaign, scoring no goals in their last two games, and losing both.
