Watch: Fans mobbed Ronaldo’s Al Nassr team bus ahead of AFC Champions League tie in Iran

Cristiano Ronaldo has started the new season in the Saudi Arabian League in impressive form, registering 7 goals and 4 assists in 5 games

Cristiano Ronaldo has been greeted by extraordinary scenes in Iran with hundreds of fans chasing the Al Nassr bus ahead of the club’s Champions League tie on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Saudi Arabian club are set to play Tehran-based side Persepolis in their opening AFC Champions League group stage fixture on Tuesday night and they’ve had quite the welcome.

Videos released on Al Nassr’s X handle showed fans running down the road in pursuit of their yellow team coach as excitement ahead of the fixture reaches fever pitch.

Fans young and old were spotted holding up Ronaldo posters and wearing Ronaldo shirts as the Portuguese superstar prepares to play in the Iranian capital.

The 38-year-old has started the new season in good form, registering 7 goals and 4 assists in his first 5 games in the Saudi Professional League this season.

After six rounds of games, Ronaldo is the top-scorer with seven goals, a situation that puts him once again above his major competitors, considering the number of European stars who have followed in his footsteps this season.

Al Nassr have picked up 12 points from a possible 18, so far, in this campaign.
