Super Falcons star, Paris FC face tough Arsenal hurdle in UEFA Women’s Champions League FPR final

The Nigeria international has been spectacular for club and country but faces a difficult challenge against the English giants

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie will be in goal for Paris FC when they trade tackles with Arsenal today, Saturday, in the final of the first preliminary round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nnadozie was in excellent form for the Parisiennes on Wednesday as she kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 victory over Ukraine’s Kryvbas at the Bilbörsen Arena in Linköping in the semifinals of the first preliminary round.

Arsenal and Paris FC will face off at the same venue on Saturday in what could be one of the biggest fixtures in the history of the French club.

This is a typical David versus Goliath matchup with Arsenal the favourites and Paris FC the underdogs despite the talents of Nnadozie.

Arsenal are a regular in Europe, with this being their sixteenth appearance since the competition’s inception in 2001.

The Londoners were Champions League semi-finalists in the 2022/2023 season, winners of the UEFA Women’s Cup in 2006, and holders of the record for English league titles.

Arsenal’s current squad includes 17 players who participated in last summer’s FIFA World Cup in Australia – New Zealand.

Nnadozie was also at the Mundial, where she kept three clean sheets in four games to help Nigeria reach the knockout rounds.

Regarded as Africa’s best goalkeeper and one of the best in the world, Nnadozie will hope to keep Arsenal out and help Paris FC take a step closer to the Champions League group stage.
