Taiwo Awoniyi established himself as a threat to opponents once more when he set up Anthony Elanga’s first goal for Nottingham Forest, which secured the Reds’ victory over Chelsea
Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has revealed her disappointment over Chelsea’s 0-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge in a Premier League clash on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Despite Chelsea’s domination and numerous opportunities to find the net, they failed to capitalise on their chances, squandering potential goals.
Nottingham Forest, inspired by the brilliance of Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi, made the most of Chelsea’s profligacy.
Early in the second half, Awoniyi laid on an excellent pass to set up Anthony Elanga, who expertly slotted home the decisive goal of the match.
This victory marked Nottingham Forest’s first win of the season, while Chelsea endured their second Premier League defeat of the campaign.
Crucially, it was Chelsea’s first loss at Stamford Bridge this season, provoking passionate reactions from both their supporters and rivals alike.
Super Falcons star Michelle Alozie did not hold back in expressing her thoughts on Chelsea’s recent setback.
Taking to her official social media platform, she succinctly wrote “Chelsea,” accompanied by an appropriate emoji, conveying her reaction to the loss.
Alozie, who has been actively engaging on social media, recently played a vital role in guiding the Super Falcons of Nigeria to the Round of 16 in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
She garnered attention for a controversial incident involving a stamp by Lauren James and a missed penalty during the Super Falcons’ exit at the hands of the Lionesses of England.
Beyond her sporting endeavours, Alozie has also made headlines for collaborating with Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Davido and sharing her opinions on the Big Brother Naija All-Star reality television show.
Looking ahead, Michelle Alozie is set to return to action when the Houston Dash faces off against the San Diego Wave in their upcoming NWSL fixture.
